Hey beautiful soul!

So, let me guess.... when asked "do you meditate?" Your response sounds something like, "I try." Like my good friend Nyeesha Williams would say, "Trying leaves room for failure." Most of us are visualizing meditation as something created for the gurus in the Himalayas, and while it may be for them, it's for you too! Let me explain....

Now, one thing that's for sure is that post COVID, anxiety rates have gone up by 25% according to the World Health Organization, and with more than 1/3 pf people experiencing anxiety or depression, meditation is not only needed, it is now essential. With stress accounting for 99% of almost all diseases, it's essential that we find a way to not only manage stress, but can you imagine operating more in your peace?

Here are some well-known benefits of meditation according to the Mayo Clinic:

The emotional and physical benefits of meditation can include:

  • Giving you a new way to look at things that cause stress.

  • Building skills to manage your stress.

  • Making you more self-aware.

  • Focusing on the present.

  • Reducing negative feelings.

  • Helping you be more creative.

  • Helping you be more patient.

  • Lowering resting heart rate.

  • Lowering resting blood pressure.

  • Helping you sleep better.

Now, I get it... just like eating healthy, you can know that it's good for you, but that its not always a motivator to make you do it, and where I stand as a spiritual healer it I understand that most of you are actually doing it wrong. And, listen, there is no need to beat yourself up, we already do enough of that.... we're actually going to get you meditating so you can work on that inner-voice as well.

So you're wondering how am I doing it wrong? Well first, your trying, and it's not working because:

  • -You probably don't like the music or the voice of the guide leading the meditation. When I first started meditating, some voices literally scared me, some annoyed me, and I couldn't recognize it because like you, I was a beginner, and I didn't know what to expect. But, it was absolutely the sounds and the voice, juts like music, some you just don't resonate with.

  • -You think you're supposed to be experiencing no thoughts at all... NOPE! You literally have a wild horse running crazy in your mind, because you have not tamed it. So, of course you're going to hear the millions of thoughts that you hear all day. The goal is to understand yourself more, and what you actually have consuming your mind. Most of us like to "keep busy," because we really don't want to hear what's there.

  • -You're trying to force yourself to do it the way recommended, in the morning, but you may not even know what you should be listening to or why. I like to think of it like New Year's resolutions, we just jump in and do the most, without really starting small.

So, how can you do it right?

  • Fina a guide that you LOVE. (i.e. ME) Once you love the music, and the guide, Voila! The magic can begin.

  • Once you have finished meditation, get out a journal and notate what you thoughts about most. Was it work, cleaning, your children, or how uncomfortable you were? Write it down, so you can begin to hear all the voices that are running crazy in your mind. Do you hear a lot of fear, doubt, or worry? Until we really excavate what's happening, those voices will always have control over what's happening beneath the surface.

  • Do it passively. That means to do it at your leisure. The BEST time is at bed. Simply put it on, and go to bed. Or listen when you;re taking a shower, cooking, or driving (of course with your eyes open.)

  • Lay down. The last thing you need to be worried about is your comfort level. Simply lay down, so you can be the most relaxed.

And, there you have it! With these simple tips, (because yes! it's literally that simple.) you can master meditation to relieve stress, heal anxiety, and live a more peaceful life.

Honestly we make life so much more complicated than it needs to be, thus STRESS! And, I;m not yelling at you, I'm simply advocating for your best life! You too like many others can heal anxiety, depression, and those thoughts that are essentially dumping cortisol into your bloodstream all day. Plus, you deserve to feel peace.

Also, can we note that it took me over 7 years yo finally get it right?! I wanted to quit just like

you, but I knew that it was helping, and when I figured out the secret sauce, I wasn't forcing myself to do it, I was doing it because just like taking a multi-vitamin daily, it became the multi-vitamin I needed for peace, and connecting with my inner-G(od) on a daily basis.

With Love,

Your healing Coach
